Our sustainably sourced Fish Oil provides 1000mg of the Omega 3 fatty acids EPA and DHA. More about fish oil Our Fish Oil contains concentrated omega-3 fatty acids eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), which are essential fats that must be obtained through diet. These fatty acids have multiple health benefits including, boosting the immune system, helping the body fight inflammation, relieving sore joints, maintaining healthy skin, boosting memory and brain function, enhancing mood and helping with depression. In addition, fish oil has key benefits during pregnancy and when breastfeeding, such as aiding baby brain development. With all these benefits it is hard to make a case for not using fish oil! Ours is refined for safety, concentrated for potency and naturally sourced from, Omega-3 rich wild ocean fish from regulated wild fisheries where equipment, practices, and procedures are in place to protect fish stocks. What the studies say Research supports most claims but is not entirely conclusive. For example, research does not conclusively show positive benefits for some aspects of heart health although it does show benefits such as maintaining normal cholesterol levels. The ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 in the Western diet is too high and this is not good for our health. Oily fish is rich in omega-3 but in general we don’t eat enough overall to address the imbalance. A good quality supplement is a convenient alternative.

Our naturally fermented Veggie Omega-3 is made from DHA rich micro-algae oil that is free of ocean born contaminants and is 100 per cent natural, vegetarian and vegan. More about micro-algae Micro-algae is the world’s richest and only primary source of omega-3 DHA. With overfishing causing a harmful decline of the world’s fish populations, micro-algae provides a sustainable and environmentally friendly alternative to fish oil that is vegan friendly and free of any ocean born contaminates. Omega-3 fatty acids are beneficial for health and cannot be produced by the human body so need to be a part of our diet. What the studies say The benefits of omega-3 fatty acids are widely known, particularly the long chain fatty acid components, EPA and DHA. However, most studies or research into omega-3 supplementation relate to fish sourced omegas and the use of micro- algae oil as a source of omega-3’s is relatively new. However, a 2008 study published in the Journal of the American Dietetic Association, showed micro-algae oil to be an equally effective source of DHA when compared to cooked salmon.
